Walk For Kids’ Sake

The 2022 Walk For Kids’ Sake is a way for participants to get out of the house, to run, walk, or otherwise ‘move’ for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia & District.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds in which 100% of the proceeds go to supporting youth in our community through our community and school-based mentoring programs. Funds raised through this event will directly support mentoring programs for vulnerable young people in our local communities.

“At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia & District we believe all young people deserve the right to reach their full potential, despite the barriers they face. Through community support and fundraisers such as Walk for Kids’ Sake we are able to continue providing free direct service to local young people. By having, a caring and consistent adult in their life who a young person can build a safe and trusting relationship with enables young people to thrive, despite the challenges they face.” – Miranda Chaffey, Executive Director

We look forward to seeing you there!

The purpose of the event is to help raise needed funds. Of which 100% of the proceeds go to supporting youth in your community through our community and school-based mentoring programs.

The guiding vision of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia & District (BBBSOD) is for all young people to realize their full potential. It is our mission to enable life-changing relationships. These relationships help to mitigate the societal barriers and adversities that children and youth face. We facilitate these positive mentoring relationships by providing free direct service to youth and families who are seeking a mentor.

Established in November 1966, BBBSOD enables positive mentoring relationships within Orillia and the surrounding communities. For more than 50 years, these free direct services have been offered to the City of Orillia, Townships of Ramara, Severn, and Oro-Medonte, and to the Chippewas of Rama First Nations community. BBBSOD is recognized as a leader in children and youth programming.

Can you help us? Sponsorship opportunities are available and will help support this fundraising event.
