AS COVID-19 CONTINUES TO IMPACT OUR COMMUNITY, WE HAVE MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL OF OUR CLIENTS, VOLUNTEERS, STAFF, AND STAKEHOLDERS.

EFFECTIVE July 2020, WE HAVE returned to the office. However, our doors remain closed UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

If you need to see us in person, please call to make an appointment. Upon your arrival, you will be required to follow all established COVID-19 protocols.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR CURRENT COMMUNITY BASED MATCHES?

With Ontario now in Stage 3 of the re-opening, there are a lot of conversations surrounding the return to in-person meetings. Our agency staff and Board of Directors are working closely on a plan to move forward with your safety in mind. Match check-ins will continue as per our match check-in schedule, and you will be contacted by our Mentoring Coordinator to complete those check-ins. If you have an in-person check-in approaching, you have the opportunity to do this virtually over Zoom!

We do recognize that some of our matches do wish to meet in person, or that the virtual meets are difficult or not possible. For that reason we are asking that you do so responsibly, obeying the protocols in place, read the attached policy, and sign the waiver corresponding waiver indicating your intentions.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR CLIENTS AND VOLUNTEERS IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING A MATCH?

Agency staff have returned to the office, and are pleasantly overwhelmed by the community outreach to become mentors to the children on out wait list. For the in-term, we have begun the matching process to create virtual mentoring relationships. Interviews and training will continue to be done via zoom and phone. Staff will contact applicants to arrange a date and time.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS?

If you are thinking about applying to become a mentor, applicants can still do so online, and will be contacted by our Mentoring Coordinator or Caseworker. Both volunteer and family applicants have the opportunity to complete the screening process virtually. If you are thinking about becoming a part of our program, you are encouraged to apply!
